I think he's bother was the other missing person (or dead) at the beginning of the Manga. The one with the professor, that were supposed to speak about Tha ark ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
My guess is Irok is his own older brother, in the novel baby Irok says something along the lines of 'id know your voice anywhere'
It’s so sad about MC’s actual older brother, but I’m so glad MC’s ready to become an older brother for his younger self
