Sure you could say Tei doesn't actively encourage a "traditional" romantic/sexual relationship, but he does still accept an arranged marriage with a child, where both their autonomies are ignored For the sake of The Country.
If a child shows romantic interest in you, you do not engage in any way and you shut it down. Anything else is grooming.
Anyway, I'm a firm believer of fiction is just fiction, but you have to recognize the bad tropes in media and how it can form your opinions on the real world. Your refusal to accept this story as grooming may one day translate into apathy to real cases and that's dangerous. Keep your wits to yourself even when enjoying fiction! Everything is political and to not engage is to let the shitty people who do mold the world you live in.

Not sure why you are getting downvoted so much. I find it problematic that a „romantic“ story is started in such a manner. It does not matter that they don’t see each other for some time or that it is a fantasy world. A grown adult married a child and that in itself is already a huge issue. Also with the big time gap it makes it even stranger that both have a romantic reaction when they meet again.
Also some comments talking about the „longing“ on their faces…. Are you okay??
Don't read it it is as simple as that. Let ppl enjoy this good work where there in no rape no romantic or sexual tension between a kid and an adult . Stop plz u always treat those works as reality . Read what suits ur taste and let ppl do whatever they want . Some ppl even read hideous sexual things but in real life they would never agree to anything like that
