Just with your email probably not, I would reccomend checking on Have I Been Pawned (a site) if your email address has been in any data leak - if yes you might want to consider changing your password (especially if you set it to be the same for every site.) Another cool tool I'd recommend is setting up something like Firefox Relay - you can generate an email address that basically forwards all the mail it's gets to your own, so you can basically mask your real email address if you wouldn't like a site to know your real email.
right u mentioned that sorry. i don’t think they’ll actually come to hurt you, i received something similar nobody came to find me. they still can have ur adress tho but don’t be super paranoid im sure they won’t come. the chance for u guys to live in the same area must b low so.. they most likely tried to scare you
report the person if you can. or do not respond/interact/entertain them. they might try to send you a second threat or just forget about it. after some time, I suggest blocking them.
to my knowledge, if you live in the US doxxing is very easy and real. if they have your full name, or email name, and the state you live in, there are websites that let you find out more info about the person for free. this is something I've done before too (not doxxing but looking up address, number, family members etc.) to see how much information is readily out there.
The most common way people know where u live is actually thru IP address, but IP address doesnt give them ur exact address, just roughly which city u live. So dont be scared and dont engage with weird emails that tell u to click on a link and stuff, I also once got threatened by someone that said they will come find me, 3 years later... no one came lol

is doxxing for realsies? I just got an email saying they were gonna find me and hurt me (prompted because I made a post on a social media with my Gmail linked that got them upset?) I am a little anxious. they only have my gmail but are they actually capable? not sure what’s the move here
