Author knows because of tik tok and twitter that this new work is already in many illegal sites and is talking legal actions... in my times, people knew how to stfu. I'm both a legal and illegal reader but if I want to interact with an author, I won't send them a tik tok video, instagram post or screenshots from some website that I know it's not the official one... good lord. I understand the excitement to have an author response to your message, art or whatever but people need to THINK before they ACT.
So please, don't share this outside other media and have some manners...

For real. BWAT was the reason mangago closed the LAST time. Social media brain rot folks really need to have a lil more common sense when posting this kinda stuff. Well. Rip mangago.

I swear the times has changed so much when it comes to illegally reading stuff and it isn't for the better. People easily forget how bad the witch-hunt was back then for illegal reading sites bec. an author got super pissed that their works were illegally uploaded here. Even scanlator groups who are actually careful and don't release their trans on other platforms were targeted. We lost so much groups who actually cared in providing good trans.

I wish most illegal readers now reacquaint themselves to the etiquette of shutting up and think twice about posting illegal chaps for easy clout.

    EXACTLY.
And in times like this, is not about misinformation. They can't say that they didn't knew about posting illegal stuff when HUGE warnings about this appear in many many scanlations or webtoons. Like you said, it's common sense! They know they can't just share names in Twitter, tik tok, etc but still do for likeability and profit. And many of those so called legal reades started reading in illegal sites so they're huge hyprocrites too.

I remember when I had to get a winzip or winrar password to access new chapters of some mangas because people just couldn't keep their mouths shut or share in other websites. I'm that old but it worked for a long time.
Their excitement wins them over and they want to get on author's good side I don't why if there aren't directly benefits for them when sharing illegal stuff but they still do it.
And there're whistelblowers too because they think they actually make some kind of difference?
And they always start with foreigners sites and not even with the korean ones...

I remember those times, there were even groups who strictly limit readers to only their scanlation group, so ppl actually have to contribute in doing the work for them to be allowed in. Tbh, although many illegal scanlators were super strict back then, I'd take it over whatever is happening today bec. at least readers have the decency to keep things down low.
