Ain’t no way

Alright usually I don’t really care for comments who hate on the FL, as I don’t make any comments about that or press the like button/reply to them. But it’s getting real now. Fr got the ick this chapter. Like wtf is the FL doing?? I get she’s anxious but that’s still no excuse. She initiated that shit more than once. Even if Alphonso got the letters and got the full picture of why she’s being forced to marry Cesare, her initiating kisses and all that crap crosses the line. Alphonso literally is right to be anxious as FL is proving her unfaithfulness. Even when Alphonso was going through that arranged engagement with that other chick, he never fell for such advances from her.

I just know if the roles were reversed and FL witnessed Alphonso do the exact same actions she did, she would feel betrayed and the readers would flip out even if they knew there was no feelings involved.

When Alphonso gets back, I hope he would express how awful he felt about what FL did.

I was gonna comment the exact same thing.
And as a reader of the novel, I was honestly very disappointed by her future actions.

Definitely Alfonso would be hated if he actually crossed the line and kissed that other woman. We all know it.

As much as I agree that she's in the wrong by initing this, we can't forget why she's doing it. She had history with Caesar. Despite his betrayal in her past life, she did love him for YEARS during that past life. Her new feelings for Alfonso were rather short lived in comparison.
I also think it's good that she mentioned that she's "afraid of forgetting" cuz that's exactly what happens after a long time passes; you forget your anger and resentment. And it's not helping that Caesar is buttering her up

Normally I would get her reasons and decisions were cause of her past life. However it doesn’t make much sense here. If you look at the thoughts in the chapter, she hardly really thought of Caesar and didn’t think romantically about him. She was using him cause she was lonely and wanted to first spite her sister. It was her pride speaking and not any sort of sweet memories. It was pure selfishness in this case.

I would have understood had this happened earlier when she first awoke in her second life, because the feelings are still fresh. I would have also understood if she talked about this sort of complex emotions of still loving him. However she never showed that. She only ever showed hatred at first and then some leniency thinking of him as changed and potentially an ally in this life. Nothing was romantic. The first kiss was this sort of revenge against Isabella and the second was her loneliness thinking of the letters with Alphonso, then came the guilt of betraying Alphonso. To say her decisions were from her years of love, in this chapter, I don’t think would be accurate.

But after awakening to her second life her primary feeling for Caesar aren't love since she found out before her death that she was betrayed. She felt resentment in that moment. After some time this had faded so that using him didn't feel as terrible as it should.

I agree that she didn't feel love in any of these kisses and did it to spite Isabella but even if she's not thinking or displaying it, the memories of the time where she had loved him are buried inside her. She can't un-love a person, just add other feelings to the complicated bunch she's already feeling.

You’re absolutely correct. I don’t read the novel as a whole but I have read the novel chapters in this arc on Naver. I think by the time this arc ends, which is soon, we will know Ari’s overall thoughts about this engagement arc. My guess is it will be over by ch182 or somewhere thereabouts.
