There's like so many ways to portray dark romance without rape but what do I know? Im no author and I don't have the ability to write so I can't really do anything but eat it up bc I like toxic shit too.
honestly yeahh you have a point, but i guess the reason why i felt so disappointed was because ive read bl manhwa with darker topics that are well written (ex: pizza delivery man and the gold palace, checkmate, hanbun ageru, etc) and reading this manhwa i subconsciously placed them in the same tier… this recent chapter was just hard to stomach for me, even though logically i know they’re just using each other… i guess its part of the author’s intent in a way (?) still i feel as if it could’ve been portrayed way better, but like you mentioned im no author
Even if the recent ch feels disappointing, at least the author didn't made it look like uke enjoyed it. I kind of liked of how uncomfortable he looks, showing that he's not enjoying it. These days, it's rare to find authors who actually doesn't romanticize SA/Rape scenes
i see where youre coming from, honestly i sort of agree, its rare to find an author that doesn’t romanticize it. but at the same time i just wish things like this weren’t so normalized… i wish it wasnt some kind of route that authors are seemingly forced to take in order to make the story “dark” or “complex” because that’s not true
the SA in this was just really weak writing tbh, since the beginning everything about the story to the characters was done so meticulously that these past two chapters felt like the author just wanted to rush through the most intense stages of their dynamic and relationship, i expected smt a bit more original or something that would be on par with the writing we’ve seen so far, not this
i agree i was expecting a little more, these past two chapters felt very rushed and imo didn’t really do anything to enhance the plot or their dynamic, felt as if there were other routes this couldve gone, definitely would’ve preferred if the sex had been withheld longer because this just felt off
fawk my chungus life… personally, as someone who found this when it was still in the create section i was really hoping it would live up to its potential. it has been peak so far but this recent chapter was really disappointing… i knew this story wasn’t going to be fluffy at all just from reading it… but still i feel as if the author could’ve portrayed the same dark dynamic without the forced sex. or at the very least not make things so uncomfortable for incheol, it feels as if the tension from previous chapters just disappeared
