the amount of people disappointed by this being toxic is self explanatory and shows people had false expectations of a romantic story, just bc you haven't seen it doesn't mean it's not there. you keep talking about some 'we' and 'we all' when most people aren't concerned about how predictable it was. most of the topics were complaining bc they didn't predict this happening. you don't even need to scroll down.
just bc you claim to have seen something, doesn’t mean I’ve seen it. The logic goes both ways. I haven’t heard anyone complaining about it being toxic, I’ve only seen criticism for the inclusion of noncon. Maybe you’re misunderstanding what a lot of ppl are actually upset abt. I’ll concede that many probably did have expectations that were not met (however, it has nothing to do with a lack of romance, as you keep implying). But at the end of the day, expectations are set by the foreshadowing and writing of the story, so it’s disingenuous to act as though reader’s expectations are unfounded when, in fact, they’re the product of someone’s interpretation of the original source material. I use “we” as shorthand for “me and others with similar beliefs”. I thought that was obvious. It’s fine if people didn’t see this coming and it’s also fine if they did. Either way, critique is valid. As a side note: dubcon is a toxic trope, and I think many would’ve been perfectly fine with that being utilized in the story.

theyre both using each other and i love that so much yeppppppppppp. also what did yall expect lmao imagine thinking this story would be cute and romantic when nothing about it has been remotely like that from the very beginning
