They targeted her because she stole 5 million dollars from some rich government person under the name of her husband. She stole it so that they would target her and she could use the money as a bargaining chip to talk to her husband. Hope that helped.

Oh I'm pretty sure he was on another mission and she was a random woman he chose to use as a cover for his mission. It was Hella messed up but I think she was just a pawn used to complete his cover. Indeed exciting, messy and I'm here for itttt lol.
