no, i don't think the fiction you consume defines your morality (i read jinx too so lmfao) but jaekyung did rape dan regardless of the contract and the fact there are people who don't think so proves these types of media are dangerous if you don't fully understand real world standards before reading it
I'm also commenting to see where this goes but Jisoolovesme, you got a point and that's literally what I've been thinking too. i am so tired of the narrative that Dan is a helpless man LIKE Y'ALL FORGOT THIS A MAN HAS PROBABLY SERVED IN THE KOREAN MILITARY, IS OLDER THAN JK AND BEEN THE MAN OF THE HOUSE IN A MALE DOMINATED SOCIETY LIKE SK? yeah right.
Y'all make me laugh, if you really can separate fiction from reality why did you care enough to make a whole paragraph defending a rapist? And is the same logic you're going to apply to real life victims too? Do you think sex workers doesn't get raped because they're paid? "He paid dan for sex so there's already consent in there" that's such an insane thing to say. Yes it's a fictional story but the way you're pouring your thoughts towards a fictional rapist and saying the victim could've walked away is kinda concerning.
Ah yes, telling someone that their chat gpt knowledge is shit is def me being unhappy in life
Ofc you know me SO well
You guys are glamorizing it. Excusing it. This is also a problem irl. If youve been shielded from the harm it did to multiple communities, I envy you. Someone might not make this choice irl, but the glamorizing and defending of this behaivour EVEN IF IT IS FICTION has rl consequences. You just dont care bc you have absolutely no Empathy.
You can also chose to not engage in comments, yet here we are. Your point?
Girl you are the one under my comment ? I legit said don't mix fictional stories with reality and you're doing exactly that ??? You are kinda acting dense on purpose. I'm a woman. A woman who knows damn well about being a woman. I myself faces sexual assaults and catcalls from men. So saying that I'm excusing toxic stories shitty behaviors when they're fucking FICTIONAL and have nothing to do with real life since it stayed within this community FOR ME, doesn't make you look superior or that you're a ’better human’. This argument is so damn pointless but at least I get to have a chat. You can keep lurking under the so-called toxic stories comment sections and police people for their thoughts since you seem to enjoy that.
I literally said I wasn't excusing his actions ?? We are reading two fictional characters and their stories. And I am doing exactly that. I read from both povs. Not just one. I look through both of their points. Dan is a grown ass man. He made that decision and chose to do it. He agreed to have sex with Jk but every time Jk asked him for sex, what did he do? He always shy away and always said "what now?" When he was agreed to do it anytime jk asked him and mind you he said he had done these things before to jk. And that's why jk didn't do prepping. But that doesn't mean jk wasn't toxic. Jk was portrayed as rude, mean and toxic character. And I'm reading as the author introduced him and so is Dan's character. Weak maybe he is but he did anything in his will power to protect the one he loves. Now we are seeing their character development and their progress. Something normal as what fiction is. That's it. We are reading a fictional story, AGAIN. And you think I don't know shit about real cases that many victims face? But why here? What does this have to do with reality when it is not ??? You're right. It's really concerning how people who can't separate fictions and realities are always in the community of the said topics and then complain about it continuously like a bunch of miserable losers. Men will be men. They will always commit nastiest act and get away with it. Not even laws can prevent those beasts. I guess I have no morality since I supposedly 'defended' a rapist from a bl story. Thanks for the reminder.
Fiction or not, why would you defend a rapist? And like I said, if you truly think it’s “just fiction,” then why are you writing whole paragraphs about it? What pisses me off even more is that you’re claiming he never raped Dan and that Dan somehow “had a choice.” Sexual coercion is rape. Dan said no multiple times and he kept pushing, that’s rape. The issue isn’t you separating fiction from reality,it’s that you clearly don’t understand what basic consent is. The story might be fictional, but your objectiveness isn’t. Your opinions about consent aren’t. And what you said is victim blaming. You’re acting like everything would’ve been fine if Dan had just walked away. But then again, I can’t expect much from a K-pop fan. I’ll ask one more time Do you think he raped Dan or not? Just answer in Yes or no.

Not that I'm excusing his actions btw but I see more hate to him for being forceful than the literal psychotic rapist who has no remorse or even have character development like that dude from Codename Anastasia lol. What Jaehyung did was indeed wrong but not entirely unredeemable. He has his upbringings and just being typical 'unloved and traumatized' male lead in bl stories. But if you read from his pov, he paid Dan for sex. And Dan agreed to have sex with him. That's already a consent in there. He was blunt and unkind from the start how are we expecting him to automatically become soft just cuz Dan developed feelings for him ?? Now we are slowly getting to know his part of the story and how he started to see the repercussions of his mistakes. And I love to read stories like this. Bad maybe they are but this is not reality. It's fictional and we are all reading for our own satisfaction.
