Same. Like I know babies look squishy and stuff as newborns, but to call the son a monkey was a bit much imo.
Tbh I think it is about how you view it. I did not even consider it about the skin. You know newborns are very ummm ugly in my opinion. I cracked a bit at that thinking it was right word to describe. Otherwise why make a dark skinned male lead which is very thoughtful, has always been in her wife's side , and ideal one at that

I'm sorry, but freshly newborn isn't pretty. Their skin is wrinkly and their face hasn't developed enough.
After few days or week, then they started to developed and show their respective parent(or maybe grandparents) feature.
It's not about the skin color.
That “he looks like a monkey” comment about the baby left a sour taste in my mouth. That was SO unnecessary! wtf
