Minchan has a piece of seoho’s soul. So he isn’t exactly seoho, but has the right configuration to become seoho fully which would erase Minchan’s existence. Seoho’s soul was split at some point for unknown reasons but could be because of the mirror ml was found in. The villain wants Seoho back because I think he’s in love with him too, but I’m not super positive on this. Hopefully this was somewhat clear
So basically, the villian knew the past lover, yet the lover was just a human, which means he eventually died, minchan soul is a segment of the past lovers, thats why they look alike; technically minchan and the past lover are the same person to an extent, but the story emphasizes how minchan is his own person and does not share memories with the past lovers. The villan is trying to reincarnate the past lover but that would mean minchan dying as his soul is a part of the lovers soul. I might not be completely correct cuz ive read all the chapters as they come out so my memories kinda blurry!!
