I trust you. I’ll venture into the deep end of yaoi and see what there is
you should totally start with something else. like look into some of the most popular works and pick what you think suits you and then continue from there. i dont really think this one is the best way to get introduced to this genre LMAO
definitely read something better. this one is all weird (esp the thing about the pregnancy. in another subgenre sure but in this one it’s just weird and offputting lol).

Night Song
- if you want something historical and kind of dubious you might enjoy this. there’s an actual plot. it’s also kind of horror-ish. the romance won’t be romancing for a while because of plot reasons but they turn into a power couple. (currently on break)
Dreadful Night
- this horror yaoi but damn it’s good. the horror isn’t in the relationship of the couple but the actual plot (they’re literally in a horror game). def recommend. it’s one of my favorites and has plentiful plot. (ongoing)
One Room TA
- if you want something just wholesome and fun. no plot at first but it turns into something so good and deals with relationships outside the primary romantic one. they’re a very supportive couple to each other. its just a good read if you want a relationship that actually works. (ongoing; official updates)
My Guildmate Next Door
- if you want comedy. this is pretty funny but prepare for some cringe and second hand embarrassment— if you get that easily. it’s built on some silly misunderstandings. +1 point too if you enjoy RPG games (ongoing; official updates)
No Moral
- if you enjoy enemies to lovers. they’re lawyers and are both stubborn. they both have somewhat of a clashing personality but you see how they make it work and communicate through (minus that recent couple of chapters…) (ongoing)

Red String Quests
- primarily for the art and the smut. if want something smutty but with some plot— here’s something good for you. just dudes who like each other but didn’t have the chance to be together and are forced to by a rock. (ongoing)
i probably have some favorites that are completed but these are seriously all i think of these days. obv they’re to my taste but i hope you enjoy them too! lmk if you have something specific you normally enjoy and want to see if yaoi has them. i’d be more than willing to help :)

I'd recommend also checking out some of the staple yaoi mangaka like Ogeretsu tanaka (for those emotional slice of life) and ogawa chise or harada (if u like psychological dark stories.) Ik caste heaven was super popular and while there is a bunch of non con, the plot and social commentary is really well done.
