Simple Version is Daphne fell in love with Apollo but couldn't pursue it because she had sworn to be a virgin as one of Artemis' followers. And Apollo knew and would tease her but didn't truly love her. Then one day Apollo offended Eros and so aphrodite encourages him to shoot them with his arrows which he does, he shoots them which makes Daphnes love turn into hatred and Apollos disinterest into love and obsession ig. That's what I've taken away from the story ayway

Yeah, but I could go into WAY more detail and include the actual myth. So this is my simple Version.

Oops I sent that too early.

Anyway, im the original myth Daphne had no feelings for Apollo what so ever, which is a big contrast to this telling in which Daphne is shown to deeply love Apollo, while Apollo does not love her at all and is merely toying with her. The original myth begins after Apollo slays an extremely powerful python and decides to belittle Eros who's also an archer as Apollo felt himself superior. He mocks Eros and basically says "what are you doing with a man's weapons" which pisses Eros off. So to prove his power he shoots Apollo eith a golden arrow which caused an overwhelming love and obsession for Daphne who is shot with a lead arrow which caused aversion and rejection. Not necessarily to Apollo but to all men. This arrow amplifies her disinterest in men and her desire to stay a virgin and loyal to Artemis. Apollo relentlessly pursues her and Daphne hates it and constantly runs away from him as she didn't want anything to do with apollo. Unlike this story she never ends up sleeping with Apollo or even getting taken by him, instead while she runs away from him after he attempts to praise and pursue her again, she prays to her father to save her. He awnsers her prayer by turning her into a laurel tree. This breaks Apollo heart and ends up with him consdiering laurel wreaths sacred so hes often wears them. The story will likely follow a similar ot in which while running away from Apollo she is turned into a laurel tree. The myth is extremely different to this story haha, Daphne never wanted him at all.

Thank you so much. Omg the start of their relationship between the real myth and the manhwa is completely different.
