Nephthys's sin is that she PAID Osiris to give her a child. She went behind seth's back and gave Osiris the ability to bear child in exchange for Anubis.
Lowkey EVEN IF she wasnt affected by the mirror she probably would've still made the trade since Osiris took Seth's seed to try and push Nephthys into seeking his help.
Plus she got off the easiest anyway, personally i wouldve liked to see isis slap her around more, the plot basically fkn forgave her

They literally explain when Isis is going into Nephthys head that the REAL HER WHO LOVED SETH GOT SWITCHED with a fake version. Her eyes blanked out and then all of a sudden she wanted Osiris’s kid. She was basically manipulated with a magic mirror yet it’s still her fault? Yall did not read the story whatsoever cuh. More than that, the scene where that happens implies that she was waiting for Osiris anyway, the mirror only changed the reason for it. She literally says "was i waiting for osiris because..." like cmon now, this isnt exactly subtext.
lastly, like i said she was literally forgiven by the narrative anyway. She had to suffer not even a tenth of what everyone else had to suffer, so literally whats there to feel bad to her about she got off fkn free anyway.

Nothing you say is logical whatsoever and that’s how I can tell everything you say is skewed. I already repeated that the version outside of the mirror was a fake. Which means whoever did sew discord was not her. For one according to the story it was Osiris that stole the mirror from Hathor and used it. If she was influenced BY the mirror then she can’t be at fault for her actions because she wasn’t full herself ☠ This mirror isn’t like getting drunk and doing something wrong, it replaces your memories with fake ones inherently removing blame from her. And she was never waiting for Osiris in a way that implies she was interested in him.
What you say subtext or not doesn’t change anything either, you literally just said the mirror changed the whole reason for their hangout. Prior to the mirror incident their dynamic between Isis, Seth, Osiris and Nephthys was a happy family. Seth and Nephthys were in love romantically and Isis was in love with Osiris romantically. There was no way Nephthys could’ve possibly known that Osiris was interested in Seth and neither was it ever implied that Nephthys was interested in Osiris in a romantic way without the mirror. Again you need a refresher.
Also you keep saying I’m losing my critical thinking skills for defending a fictional character but you are so wound up because insulted Horus. Other characters suffering doesn’t negate her suffering at all and in my opinion it’s worse because she was innocent yet had to suffer horrible things.

Lets also not forget the whole ordeal with Isis’s priestesses who were traumatized by Seth’s actions yet he still brought Seth to their domain (when men were strictly forbidden) by lying and tricking them. Let’s also not forget that he wants to marry the one person whom his mother got tortured by. Let’s also not forget his disgusting jealousy over Seth’s own biological son and treating him poorly over the years. I think you might need a serious rain check on whomever you’re defending. I think there’s a huge misunderstanding here because you’re too emotionally charged to understand. I never said Horus wasn’t a victim either because every character is a victim at various degrees however it’s clear you’re glossing over everything else he’s done of his own accord. Moreover Sekhmet’s manipulation is different from the mirror’s manipulation. She isn’t using any magic to replace his memories or replace his very being with a fake to make things go her way. For some reason you think that’s a reasonable comparison when Sekhmet has manipulated everyone since the time of dawn just with her words alone. They let themselves be influenced by her words when they KNOW she is a goddess of catastrophe. They know if they listen to her it’s a loss for themselves and they choose to listen to her. The key word here is choice. The mirror doesn’t let you know it’s gonna switch you out with a fake version of yourself while a real you is kept imprisoned. If there is a fake you outside doing shit you don’t want to do how is that your son? Moreover how were you supposed to know that your own brother whom you love and cherish was gonna use a magic mirror do that to you during a friendly hangout?

Didnt really wanna get into this thread but like.. we are almost into 2026...why is it that horus' grapist mistake still held over him? He's veryy flawed like everyone else in ennead but one thing that you're way off the rafters here is the reason behind that ch. 1. Seth was the ONE who was sekhmet manipulated and ona mission FIRST.
2. Horus was literally fckd by mirror to do that to seth. Incase u forgot that detail, mirror doesnt only traps a person inside infinity void. It ALSO AMPLIFIES/MAXIMISES one's deepest desires to the point where they do shi involuntarily against their will. Neph's desire was to birth seth a child because of Seth's traditionalistic view on marriage n family. Hence The factory reset version of herself went to find osiris immediately after encountering the mirror. Just like horus who couldn't stop himself in s1.
3. Again to reiterate, horus is majorly flawed but there are REASONS and circumstances as why he's that way. You're being too harsh on him in criticism when compared to the rest he's not even that experienced or old enough. Even anubis is centuries older than him. For a kid who from birth to adulthood constantly survived on the run, tumbled in the worst of human nooks n cranies, his time with seth in khemmis is literally one of the few rare moments of rest he could remember. Also he did want to k+ll seth but it was HIM who saw Seth's truest self, refer back to face reveal ch where horus says seths teardrops opened his eyes and he was able to peer into his soul even beyond his consciousness. Also he doesnt sideline seths sins. What he wants is to accept seth with BOTH His rights and wrongs something not even neph is capable of. He wants to simply protect seth and bear his sins with him. Yes he does come off as unfilial but he literally doesnt wanna do anything with osiris or the throne.

All Seth does is get raped. Literally every single man Seth comes across human or god rapes him. It is so frustrating and SAD and DEPRESSING to see him get raped all the fucking time. Now I would completely pity this man if he didn’t cause the women and children of Egypt to be hunted down and sacrificed so much so they had to build their own safe haven with a barrier to protect them from all men whilst Egypt basically got turned into one large rape fuckfest which spelled disaster for any woman, child and male that remotely resembled a woman. He never told his caravan of ugly followers to stop neither did he set any rules or boundaries. He let them commit massacres and actively indulged in it. You can say there were all sorts of obstacles that made him do the things he did, but I’m sorry the things he did could not be forgiven.
Now Isis is another fucked up character. Her brother was getting raped by her husband in front of her eyes and she ran away and let him get raped. I give her some leeway because even if she did interfere because of how obsessed Osiris is (he had a whole as master plan) with Seth I think she would’ve died trying. I also hate how obsessed she was with Osiris and honestly it was frustrating to see her lap like a dog for this creep. It was relieving to see near the end of season two that she finally started to see him for how he truly was. Other than that I admit she’s the best god for the people of Egypt because she did her best to protect the women and children of Egypt and had Egypt at the forefront of her mind while basically toiling in the dirt with her shitty ungrateful son. Isis basically sacrificed everything for her son, endured years of torment from Seth and had to watch her devoted followers die which btw Horus also saw but for some reason this ungrateful brat fell in love with his uncle?! because of the way Seth loved Anubis? Man istg if I had a son like that just kill me.
And then Nephthys. Oh lord you have no idea how satisfied I was when Isis grabbed her shoulders and shouted she was a victim. I feel so bad for her and since the beginning of the story she’s always just been blaming herself for everything that happened. Not only was the actual her who loved Seth trapped in a mirror for years but then she gets cucked because her husband’s lover/rapist(Horus) loves Seth, her husband gets raped by her brother and nephew and every other man, and that same husband abuses and torments her by abusing their son. And she has a child with Osiris who she didn’t wanna actually have kids with but had to because this creep couldn’t bear to see the two have kids. Every single man in this is genuinely fucked and I have to say thank god the author made sure Nephthys didn’t get back together with Seth because she deserves way better. Horus and Seth truly deserve each other.
Short version: The art is the only thing saving this story.
