to be fair, east asians tend to have that gene that influences their earwax and BO. its really common in korea, so much so that tourists claim it can be hard to find deodorant there. so chances are he probably doesn’t smell, but its arguably still gross because of all the sweat
I studied in Seoul, unfortunately I can personally vouch that deodorant is distressingly hard to find and/or expensive as hell
