Can’t get into manga easily these days

GIRRRLLL I FEEL YOUU!!! Like i have 1000+ to read stories, half is probably completed, but I m also looking for other reccos cos I cant read them. Ive tried several times to read Checkmate and Passion, pearl boy, and roses and champ ( that I’ve marinated and promised to read once its done) but ive never get past. Chapter 5. Now im looking for short stories less than 10 chaps cos i dont have the attention to read long ass stories. What wrong with me. Damnit. Like i see edits and thought thats interesting imma read it now to know what happened. Then 5 chaps in i dont care to know anymore. And actively accepts distractions

there's nothing wrong with u, can't say for sure if its the same as what I went through but it might be like when you eat too much of the same fav food and its always available
I also went through this, I took a break and read only BL (m/m romance) books or novels for awhile, there's some really good stuff out there, more variety in terms of plot lines, dynamics, dialogue, pace etc everything, tried out audio dramas too (voices <3 noises <3)
when all you have is black text on white or dialogue and sounds to work with, ur imagination works a little differently than when its given to u as images, that might be a change you could try
then I eventually came back to mangago and had heaps of stuff to catch up on, rediscovering stuff I used to get excited about that actually gets me excited again, and of course, the art
going through the exact same thing with music rn, all just noise to me, and I fking love music so much

I might take a break or read short manga too tbh
I tried to read master peace cuz everyone is talking about it and quit after chap 6 lolll

My friend keeps recommending bl books to me actually and i read one and loved it and she recommended even more so maybe you’re right i should focus on books for a while. They’re enjoyable and for some reason these days easier to pick up than manga for me lol i need a visual break!
Can i ask for one rec from you? I wanna get into bl books now and my friends recs are good but i only have a few lolll

Master peace start out so great with full potential but it nosed dived after their first sex. For me what i do it look into other forms or genre. Like go back to watching anime or movies or read sl or action. Another is rereading my faves. Currently im obsessed with heated rivalry so still bl in different form

thats great, glad to know you found smth to enjoy :D it doesn't have to be books, there's a variety of BL media out there so you can try whatever peaks your interest
I'm not sure what you're into so could you tell me which books your friend recommended that you enjoyed?
I like crime/detective so I recommend the Zero Hour Series by Aimee Nicole Walker, it's a trilogy but there's more if you enjoy it, I personally thought the balance was pretty good between the romance and the crime and the backstories, there is nice flow and fairly easy to follow too so you could just sit back and enjoy, writing is decent
Captive Prince series by CS Pacat is a pretty well known title, I don't know if your friend mentioned, I enjoyed it but I don't if it would be ur cup of tea
Eric Linnaeus series by Kikito Lynn, a combo of fantasy supernatural drama mystery, heavy topics, master-slave, writing isn't great but the world-building is very interesting
Enhanced series by Victoria Sue has some really nice characters and couples, it's sci-fi a bit like espers, there's also crime, action, family, the later books healed my heart I cried so much reading this series, writing is okay
