Honestly it's highly likely gonna be yuri and yaoi integrated, so it's better for you to stop reading after ch 1 because it's surely gonna be yaoi with the guy that goes to Tokyo probably being with another guy.

I genuinely just recommend reading "Cocoon Entwined", it's by the same author and though it's not about zombies, it has that same eerie-like story that makes you want to read more!
Plus it's Yuri only too because it's set in a girls-only school!

I get not wanting to read BL, but what are you disappointed for? The author can write whatever they want and can venture into any genre they desire. Just don't read instead of commenting about how you're disappointed it's not yuri yall all about representation and inclusion until queer stories feature BL too. Yuri and Yaoi are both queer ://

When a BL reader doesn't want to read straight or GL stories, everyone is supposed to be chill about it, but when a GL or straight romance reader doesn't want to read BL everyone is suddenly throwing a hissy fit damn.

I didn't say that's right either lol. Preferences are one thing, you can prefer reading BL or GL. But calling something queer disappointing because it's not the queers YOU want is icky. No matter BL or GL reader. You can just say "it's not my cup of tea" instead of calling it disappointing?

I called it disappointing because I found it under the Yuri genre, but then saw it says Yaoi in the title, mahgawd sorry for experiencing an emotion damn, I'll never feel disappointed again, my bad.

If you already noticed the yaoi tag, what's the point of the "disappointing" comment? I prefer BL. I've been reading it for more than 10 years now. But I rejoice whenever I see yaoi and yuri together because even when I prefer BL, I like queer stories in general. Especially this story, it seems like it's gonna be a good story with a rich plot line, so if you're only against this cause there's gonna be two guys in a relationship, then it seems kinda gayphobic ngl.

Honestly it's just their preference, no need to be so up on arms about it.. It's very rare that Yuri/GL stays as just Yuri/GL without added romance with straight & gay relationships so OP may have just been tired about that.

Though the "disgusting" comment was totally uncalled for, it's what they like and you can't really do anything about that.

As you said you've been in the BL community for 10 years now, and you have 100% seen how fujoshis treat the Yuri/GL genre with disdain simply because of it being two women instead of men, but suddenly it's wrong for OP to think so too but the genders are switched?

I understand where you're getting at though, but it's just sad to see that when FUJOSHIS comment things like these it's not getting scrutinized but when someone that prefers GL does, it's now ultimately bad and they're a bad, homophobic person for thinking that.

There are plenty of Yuri/Gl that focuses on just the yuri. And also, yes. Some people are ruthless no matter if they're a himejoshi or a fujoshi. But these days I've only ever seen yuri fans hating on Yaoi/Bl and fujoshis, complaining about how everything is BL/yaoi as if that's anyone's fault. And many yuri fans see themselves as superior because they deem BL as fetishizhing and toxic, when the same tropes exist in yuri too. I've personally interacted with such people. As they say, real yuri fans never speak ill of yaoi, and real yaoi fans never speak ill of yuri. They're two sides of the same coin. And I did mention that I don't find it right when fujos do the same thing either. I criticise both. And it is wrong of op to think so even if the genders are switched. Because as I said, it's not right when fujos do it either. It isn't any less wrong. I also said that it's completely fine and normal if someone prefers one or the other. Also, look at the comments yourself. There's not a single fujo complaining about the yuri, but at least two or three comments talking about wanting JUST the yuri. Or being disappointed it isn't just Yuri. Who then, is the one perpetuating the double standards?

And maybe I'm on the right side of fujo discourse, but I haven't seen fujos go up to a yuri fan and harass them, and if someone does do that, fujos themselves criticise that person. But I've seen a lot of harassment coming from the other side. Talking about how yuri is better and that yaoi is fetishistic and that liking BL somehow makes you misogynistic?? But I'm aware that these "fans" are just a loud minority. The whole yuri community as a whole is very nice, at least in my personal experience. But people never extend this grace towards the fujoshis, one bad apple and we have everyone hating on us as a collective. Aren't those double standards too?

1. Yuri as a whole is way less than BL & Straight in terms of output. You will see more Yuri with integrated romances rather than a focused one.

2. I have recently seen couple of comments scrutinizing lesbian relationships and glory-fying (if that's even a word) BL in a comment section about a YURI manga, so it happens a lot more than you think and honestly I'm just tired of seeing that.

3. Alot of things are indeed BL because that's the famous genre at large currently, if you go to the main page of mggo, majority of the POPULAR titles are either BL (alot are either r18 and/or toxic) & Straight titles.

4. Again, the OP is probably just tired of seeing this theme play out in a manga they were interested in at first. Though it was an ESPECIALLY bad choice of words, that is still their feeling and not to be taken to what are their principles IRL, because what they're getting mad about is what they read as entertainment.

THEY MAY HAVE BEEN DISSAPOINTED ABOUT ABOUT BL COUPLES APPEARING IN FICTION, BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN THEY HATE GAY COUPLES IRL IN GENERAL. THERES A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN THAT.

5. Being dissapointed in something is a real feeling, but getting mad at someone and dictating that they should feel no such emotions is kinda crazy, but if those emotions are taken to an extreme then it's fine to reprimand them.

6. I have genuinely never seen someone, a single fujo fight another fujo for their take in a Yuri manga, I've only seen fujos support each other (Well in s way that's nice ig?? Sisters supporting sisters..? But it's for a bad cause).

Honestly I've never seen the mysoginistic comments, but if it does goes on in the Yuri community, then they are not true fans and I hope no one accepts them into it, at least i don't, and I will and am reprimanding anyone that tries to hate on other people's likes simply because it's a different form of love. Just because someone likes another thing doesn't mean that they hate the other.

7. Lastly, yes that is indeed a double-standard too. But if the wrath I've seen in once being in the Fujo community years ago is still the widely accepted as the norm, then I understand why. The fujoshi community used to be like the Genshin community as it is now, where they only like this but hate any other thing because it's not this.

Don't get me wrong, I've talked to alot of fujoshis because I do read BL sometimes (in a different account), but the fans I've encountered in fandoms are 1/10 fujos talk bad about Yuri in some form or another. Maybe I'm just on the wrong side of the discourse but I personally find the path the fujos walk on to be thorny.

Let us NOT talk about how FUJOSHIS/FUDANSHIS ARE MYSOGINISTS and HIMEDANSHIS/HIMEJOSHIS ARE GAYPHOBIC because THEY ARE NOT!!

Let's respect other people's interest, and if it looks like they commented in spite then either ignore them or block them. All of us are human beings with different interests and likes, so unless it hurts someone then let them have that joy in their life.

I completely understand your point though, I truly wholeheartedly wish there were more people like you, and I hope to be more like you that speaks up when it matters, what the OP said was wrongly said, but that is what they felt so we cant really just dismiss that. The only thing we can do is ask them to simply change their wordings next time and recommend them something different that they may be interested on.
