Yep, I used to read very concerning stuff and ignore all the toxicity and rape. Now i prefer either very fluffy shonen ai or freaky couples, and i avoid rapey or toxic dynamics
definitely, I used to read alot of non-con, SA, and basically all the things you shouldn't read.
present time though my taste in bl has made a big change and i only care about plot now lol
When I started BL, there was so few choices so I pretty much got to read everything I wanted to read, and now there’s so much choice and over saturation that it’s turned into who can do this plot line best
I still enjoy “toxic” stories as long as there’s something enjoyable about them.
But a change of taste is so fucking normal I’m like forgetting that was the question lol
ofccc i think it would be even weirder if you kept reading a single genre all ur life. its good to often change what u consume. i used to only read shounen ai, now i read everything except rape to love stories or stories that contains SA, incest etc..
rn im turning towards stories that are more like.. psychological, that talks about family issues, mental health related, and it doesn’t bother me if there’s romance or not. it’s normal to change and to grow up and realize maybe this or that isn’t what u enjoy to read anymore
When u started reading bl, I usually read bl with toxic genres including confinement, tragedy nd all,. But as time goes(like it's been 7 yrs) Im shifting towards a different genre. Nd k won't say soft or fluffy genre cus the typa shi I like now is freak4freak.
So basically what I wanna say is that, any of y'all realized or had a change in genre taste? Is it normal?
