I don't think he was homophobic. His father was more scared of how his son would be treated by society than him being gay. I feel like his father went through something the same maybe that's why he became the way he is.
I hope that we will get more info about his father's past to see if it's true or not.

Yeah. Maybe cuz that's how he feels like too. He blames himself too. That's why he looks so guilty afterwards. His face screams a past trauma or experience that suddenly bursted out that he ended up bursting his words. There was a lot of shock.

Yeah like, Katie Killjoy once said "I am not homophobic, I just hate gay people" well that was worse haha, but for real, we are already in an era of open-mindedness is homophobic still a thing? because this should be the era for nonchalantness hahaha

Yeah he’s not homophobic at all. He regrets his life because of hardships he faced and he doesn’t want his son to be in hardship and grow up to be a regretful old man like he is. It’s actually just him projecting his own insecurities out onto his son rather than him actively hating on gay people. He even said it “I’m just worried”. I think he really loves his son and doesn’t actually care that he’s gay but it came out really really wrong.

What do you mean, is it still a thing? Where do you live? Homophobia is ever-present, even in the most liberal countries

Homophobia lives rent free in a vast majority of the world. It’s present in every heteronormative media and every demographic. There’s even homophobia amongst the homosexuals. Internalised homophobia is really bad too. When you automatically assume a man would be with a woman and a woman would be with a man, that’s internalised homophobia. The fact that heterosexuality is the norm when it actually wasn’t for the very very very longest time is crazy. In fact, sexuality is a relatively new concept since it used to just be whoever was top was a top and whoever was bottom was a bottom and whoever was a switch was a switch. The hierarchy was that tops were superior and better than bottoms and switches. Discrimination will never ever leave us for as long as we exist. If there’s no homophobia, there will be something else to take its place.

I’ve watched it but you’re not making any sense. Katie killjoy is a comedic character who IS homophobic. They made a parody about it but it’s still homophobia. Just like vox making that “make hell great again” is a parody of trump. Making a joke about something serious doesn’t negate the severity of it. It’s like saying “I’m not a nazi, I just hate Jews” it’s still being a nazi whether you admit it or not just like homophobia is still homophobia whether it’s admitted or not.
