Sadly I think at this point in the story he would rather not eat his cooking than give in to him. I am so sick of the amnesia troupé in stories!!!!!!

He should say yeah it’s not enough and demand kisses and affection and dates as compensation for him cooking meals and doing his part to keep the home tidy. That way, he gets to keep his promise AND he gets to help reignite the romance.
