That did happened. He was gone to Russia for some time and taekjoo missed him and only after he came back did we found out that he was getting engaged but ended up doing something to call off the engagement(?) sorry it's been a long time since I've read the novel but I do remember him being engaged but only briefly mentioned
From what I read before in the comment is that he will marry someone but amidst the wedding ceremony he will call it off?
