I'm looking for good recommendations where the main character or a very frequently occurring character is ill or terminally ill. A lot of the ones I've read have them magically get better or you forget they are even sick most of the time because their symptoms come and go just for the sake of drama and they just seem fine the rest of the time. Or the symptoms just aren't really there, but they are said to be ill...

I'm fine if they eventually get better if the depiction of the illness is good.
