The movie omits that part and thank god they did. The movie is more open ended. They don't technically end up together, but Sugiki says see at the 10 dance to Suzuki by the end, which means their relationship is still to be continued.
I was looking forward to the movie and I'm yet to watch it. The comments however are making me feel hesitant. Do they not end up together? What is this osh about him sleeping with some random dude? Does it happen in the movie too? Is the movie true to manga or they have a diff ending? Is it a happy ending? Spoil me..
