::Looks at tags:: Looks like there's 54 girls who think yaoi & shounenai can be used interchangeably....In the end, they're BOTH WRONG. In Japan, Yaoi refers to doujinshi & fanfiction that have no plot beyond getting the characters to pork (the definition is an acronym meaning "no climax, pointless, meaningless"), & hard R BL is referred to as BL18, & Shounenai is a dated form of BL that's overly dramatic & often tragic & the term fell out of popularity in Japan in the late 90s.
