Umm.. How people rate manga, depends on many factors; taste, culture, experience, AGE, etc.. Many kids read yaoi because of curiosity about sex.. I've ever seen comment that, "She never read wording and skips to see sex scenes only." got lot of "Agree".
Rating helps but can't fully tell about manga as there're many overrated or underrated manga.
The best way is.. just pick the one we like or think it's great into our favorite lists, regardless rating..
I thought about this matter sometimes. Why do people like mangas with explicit sex scene although the plot are suck, hardcore, or gore. And the rating are always high 9.0 above... Yaoi mangas nowadays become some cheaps porn books. Ridiculous plot etc. I mean, why must this kind of plot ? I think we have to learn about the past, where the quality is the most important..
