I hope they don't end up together

yeah, there are plenty of stories with childhood friends between a male and female end up together and I would like a story that doesn't do that, that it's just always genuine friendship between the two (づ￣ ³￣)づ

if there's already a story like that out there, doesn't matter what medium - i.e. book, manga, fanfiction, comic, etc - please recommend it! :)
