Well you're reading yaoi, rule number one is to expect it's bad and be pleasantly surprised when it's okay instead of expecting it's great and be disappointed when it's okay.

Well yeah, to be honest I didn't expect it to appear either. It's a very easy move to make when you have writer's block so it's weird that it would appear in the third chapter and not the third volume haha

BL is mass-produced romance/erotica like any other. Pick up a romance novel at random in any country and chances are, it's going to be badly written and full of cliches. You will always have to hunt for good stuff.
Yeah, you are right. Romance novel is an example too but I think is not so much mass-produced as manga in Japan. But in proportion is the same, yeah.
