Personally, I enjoy the manga more, as the face detail is insanely intricate, but to be fair achieving that level of detail for an anime would just be a waste of time, in terms of just showing the audience several frames.
But the anime has amazingly smooth and visually appealing animations of high quality. However, the trademark grins and smirks of the manga are lost in the anime... instead they kind of just look awkward without the dramatized shadows and creases on their faces.

I enjoyed the manga more too since I've already read it before the anime even started and I wasn't really suprised about the gambling sessions.
But honestly, I really liked the last episode. It was something that didn't happen in the manga and it seemed like Suzui-kun really is someone special and not just the guy that likes Yumeko (my thought).
The gambling itself was not that chalenging for me to understand (I usually need some chaps to keep up with the rules). I loved to look up the hidden meanings behind the cards.
I've read a hilarious comment about the Suzui scene. Something like he used his Shinigami Eyes (Death Note reference) XD
Basically I wouldn't mind a 2nd season, but it can'T be better than the manga as long as it follows its plot sealessly.

Oh yeah, but another little peeve I have with the anime is that the pacing is so strange. For someone like me who's read this since it's like 10th or 15th chapter, and has spent over half a year if not more reading all the gambles, it seems so strange to realize all these gambles took place within days of each other.
It's just so fast paced compared to the manga! Some of the suspense is lost though but that's probably due to the el classique 'to be continued in the next chapter'.
Is the manga and anime any different?
