Kiev does have a point...

I'm so glad that Conor and Simon are FINALLY BACK TOGETHER they literally need each other to function, but really... After that painfully long flashback I can't help but feel that Simon... like... was really, really REALLY broken. He practically prostituted himself, hired a mercenary, drowned in drug use, and hired prostitutes and made them wear wigs just so they could even remotely resemble Conor... And despite all the shit he'd been through and the hell he's still suffering, it just takes a few "I love you's" From Conor to get all those years back.. I mean I'm happy but damn, I'm kinda confused as well because Simon is buried in Shit guys. How he just so easily accepted Conor after he was just ABANDONED like that spoke volumes about how he just LOVES CONOR his UNIVERSE, it's so heart wrenching. I know that the story focuses on racial discrimination and Conor is suffering through that, but Simon's suffering is self inflicted brought upon by his borderline obsession with Conor.. I just can't ugh...

You have a point about Simon and how his life went to crap but Kiev being his manager shouldn't have allowed those terrible actions to occur. But both Conor and Simon had to deal with two types of pain. For Conor it's his ethnic and religion/ parents, while Simon has his family issues (his brother is a bloody pyscho) and his love for Simon/music. Back then when they were young, they couldn't understand each other's pain. Now, at least they are trying to understand each other.

Yeah, I totally understand. Conor had his reasons, like I said they were both suffering different issues. I can see how insecure Conor felt especially after Simon disappointed him with the whole emigrate thing. I just felt that the backlash that they faced after the brakeup was not commensurate. Conor suffered through things before the brake up, Simon just kinda self destructed after the brake up. In the perspective of Simon, at that time that Conor was leaving him I'm pretty sure he didn't have a full grasp of the reasons behind Conors actions, and conor also went dark afterwards... I dunno, I completly sympathize for them both... it's just, the reprocutions they are now facing is just... so disproportionate... Admitedly it's never wholely a single persons fault, offcourse there were a lot of deterrents that could have helped simon... like Kiev. But I just don't know man... they came together so quick.

Disproportionate? I feel like people are forgetting that Conor was beaten *literally* almost to death in a hate crime. And him being wary of whether things could work out for them isn't unwarranted, given Simon *did* have an internal debate about his ambition versus love. Everyone forgetting that too? Conor breaking up with Simon was the catalyst for what he suffered after, but Simon (and the people willing to take advantage of him) is responsible for how badly he self-destructed after. It's definitely terrible what he had to go through, but blaming Conor for it is 100% off base.

Never really blaming Conor for anything. like I said "Admitedly it's never wholly a single persons fault, off course there were a lot of deterrents that could have helped Simon... like Kiev. But I just don't know man... they came together so quick". And yeah I felt that the REPERCUSSIONS were Disproportionate, as in the outcome of it all. Conor became a better man out of this, he got his head straightened out, realised who he is and resolved that he needed to be with Simon which is all great! it's more on the emotional aspect that I feel Simon is more laking and how he's now going to Jail with a leaked sextape is kinda overkill. Anyway this was just my opinion, and I'm not hating on anything, I just feel like in a "broken" relationship-realistically speaking-there would always be someone who'd hurt a little more... and it's just so painful to watch, yet I love it (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

Apologies, regarding blaming Conor I got your comment mixed up with the thread starter's, and was probably also thinking about some previous comment threads. As for the repercussions being disproportionate, and is also related to how different their public profiles are (unknown vs megastar). Simon being a white man is part of what gave him the opportunity of super stardom in the first place, and that super stardom is why he became an attractive target for political machinations, and as well the voyeuristic interest in his fall from grace. It's not a series of event Conor is ever likely to have to face, because that avenue was never an option for him in the first place. And, well, there's not much further to go beyond 'nearly dead' except 'dead', which no one wants.

I don't think their relationship is 'broken' either, they've both suffered in life, but the way the think about and treat each other is pretty healthy given the circumstances, honestly.
