Yes! And I think this is what is so devastating for Sawato. The Daiki that he became in those three months was FOR Sawato, grew and changed because of his feelings for Sawato. He was Sawato's Daiki. This is not Sawato's Daiki. That's the precious thing that has been lost and Sawato is alone in that loss. This is heartbreaking.
When I was getting the amnesia vibes from Sawato Daiki's story I thought, "Here we go! Shimizu Yuki's memory loss twist is here again, like Ze." But, there are some aspects here which are quite interesting.
Because I think the three month time period when Daiki fell in love with Sawato, not only his mere crush turned into a deeper love BUT Daiki also changed for the better. May be Daiki himself didn't realize it but he became a better compassionate man while winning Sawato over(Not saying he was a bad man, but he was a bit of a jerk). So, obviously when he lost his memory he also lost that better part of his personality. And we all kinda get, why Sawato is so heart broken. Coz instead of the magical first time with his beloved man which he was hoping for, it felt like he just had fleeting sex with an a**hole without an ounce of feeling in it. With each line from Daiki in ch.24, i was thinking "Just shut your mouth Daiki. Do not dig yourself into a deeper hole than you already are!" My heart aches for both of them :(
