Let's get this straight the 9th Prince didn't tell her because he doesn't want her in the way a#%hole right he doesn't have feelings for her yet so why would he bother to tell her if you ask me he may even be using her to look for traitors remember what the 9th prince's friend said something along the lines of "if only she wasn't a likeable person I wouldn't feel pity towards her being married to you"

You see, the thing is: What exactly "staying put" means to the prince? As far as she knows, she only tried cooking and made a friend, thats it. What did he expected her to do? Sit her ass in a chair all day? Is that what "staying put" means? There's no way she'd know her teacher took part in the rebellion, so it makes no sense to get mad at her and say she did wrong. You have to know whats the wrong thing to do in order to not do it again. Your comparison with a child its a little inaccurate, since 1. She's kinda naive, but not in a child's level 2. To not eat sand isn't as obvious as "hey, this country's kinda messed up with rebellion plots so lock yourself in your room to not cause me trouble"
