Not because he didn't accept him but because of the fact he questioned his feelings. I can't imagine how much he must have suffered because of it especially since he isn't a people person and without much experience .

The white haired guy got a trauma because the other couldn't accept his feelings. When they older and more adult that they can face their feelings he pushes him away.
Honestly if i were not also a bit like him, i would say it is a bad plot but it is realistic in some way.
