I think it's cause, in the beginning when he defeated all the lizardmans from his meteorshower thing he got a quest clear box type thing and in it said: Source- Valley of the dragon conquered, so he might be thinking since the witch took over as the witch of that forest she kinda overcame tthe source in the forest. Just my thoughts.
Wait what? When did this happen or get explained? What are those 'source' things? When did he ever get the source of those lands he started in? Huh? O.o
