I don't like when they make the character's personality based in this " uke" " seme " category you know the uke cute, clumsy and shy and seme aggressive, bossy, can't control his fucking dick and sexual desires... Even in Shoujo mangas the girl has more personality

And it's kinda disrespectful for the lgbt community because it portraits gay relationship in a not realistic way, I know this is just manga but still let's be realistic here

Lmao how is shoujo disrespectful? There's no comparison between these too .
There's no forceful relationship between the main characters and no rape , meanwhile in most yaois there's both and people act like it's okay just because they fall in love or the guy is hot .Now tell me how is shoujo that disrespectful to a heterosexual couple?
I love BL mangas ( yaoi/ shounen ai which I've been preferring because is more realistic ) but I just can't when I see a manga romanticize rape. Unless you have Stockholm syndrome you would never fall in love and forgive the person that raped you . Oh hell no .

I didn't mention because i thought it was pretty obvious, so yes i was including rape and forceful relationships on my second comment as something disrespectful. In the original comment i was talking about the role they create for gay couples ( aggressive man and submissive women) it gets kinda boring and repetitive , all fujoshis know this , yaoi was made for women by women , so the male uke character most time is feminine and submissive ( unfortunately that's kind of a representation of the women in the relationship) clearly in real life not all gay men is like that... Shoujos has nothing to do with that , they are unrealistic because the genre is romance ofc no man will act like a gentleman 24/7 and nog every girl acts like the heroine 24/7 lol

I just think they can create characters considering personality and trying less to fit the " gender roles " that society created you know, why can't they be a reversible couple? Why can't the guy who likes to be at the bottom be rich and more short tempered ? Why can't the other guy just give up when he says no ? is so rare to see a manga like this that when i read OMG it's like a miracle , I'm glad this is changing in the new yaoi mangas

As someone who has been reading both yaoi and shoujo for a long time I will have to agree with Mary'Helen that both shoujo and yaoi are both unrealistic and sometimes very unflattering with their " gender roles" stereotypes.

But this is fiction people so I personally don't expect much realism although you do get really good manga in both genres that are quite realistic.

And I will further state that different sub-genres of each manga type offer much to a variety of audience and/or caters to a specific type. eg. Some people like reading manga like serious and the more realistic Killing Stalking and Harada sensei's yaoi manga whilst others prefer kanda neko sensei's cute and fluffy manga. It does not make you the reader or the mangaka bad for having such preference in manga it just depends on your tastes And opinions.

I do value your opinion I just think it's taking things a bit too far to only criticise one genre as a lot of genre of manga share the fault of stereotyping.

Y’all are talking about shoujo and yaoi being unrealistic.... but don’t forget shounen where most female roles are only there as nothing but fan service. At the end of the day it’s all fiction. And I like my ukes to be cutesy fluffy typees and the seme to be taller and probably older and of course IKEMEN!
