I agree with your assessment completely. For a high school kid who was trying to play it cool and keep a secret that, if it got out or got out to the wrong people at the wrong time, could cause a devastating split between many people, Keigo did pretty well and far better than some other characters I've read. The secret he was protecting was huge and he didn't want to do anything that could risk that secret being exposed. If he screwed up, Keigo could have been forceably split from Chihiro and it could have caused Chihiro's family to disown him as well. So, all things considered, Keigo didn't screw the pooch on that one. However, if my lover detested a person that I kept company with as much as Chihiro detested Baka-zawa(lol), there is no way I would happily keep company with them or not think that there was something fishy going on besides just typical jealousy. Keigo knew Chihiro was jealous and he did comfort and reassure him. However, Chihiro's tantrums got pretty intense there toward the end and Keigo never asked why Chihiro's attitude was getting worse instead of better. Keigo also was a bit too chummy with Baka-zawa, someone who was openly wooing him and whom he had not firmly rejected. This was very insensitive of Keigo, both to Chihiro AND to Baka-zawa. He was leading Baka-zawa on and inflaming Chihiro's jealousy. Honestly, the way it was written, it felt like Keigo was enjoying the attention from both Baka-zawa and Chihiro's jealousy. Which made him feel a bit like an insensitive, selfish jerk. Or a typical high school student. LOL I loved Keigo despite his being a bit selfish and insensitive. He can be forgiven because he is young and this is his first relationship. He really doesn't know any better. All in all, I loved this series and I loved all the characters... even Baka-zawa. He was necessary for Keigo and Chihiro's relationship to grow.

Thanks for your thoughts..I get what you are saying but again from the start i think..it's been a while since I last read this one..but it was keigo who loved chihiro from the get go and chihiro who liked girls..keigo might have been insensitive but I think it was only cause again he didn't know that chihiro was threatened by that model dude..and he was 100% confident in his love for chihiro..he did try his best to get chihiro to like him back..didn't he??(again I can't recall much)..I think in his head he thought chihiro did not doubt his(keigo) love for him(chihiro). I mean technically keigo shud be the one insecure and unsure..not chihiro..but it's just chihiro's personality.

Once again, your assessment is right on the money. We're also talking about high school kids here. First relationship, a homosexual relationship at that, and two kids who haven't learned to deal with their own feelings, let alone someone else's. But I do understand why some readers felt disappointed by Keigo's actions. They are looking at these characters through the same high school age eyes. I'm old, so Keigo just seemed like a typical kid to me. LOL Kids tend to be selfish and insensitive. Chihiro acted the same way. He never considered how Keigo felt by being pursued by Baka-zawa, or how his tantrums might have hurt Keigo or made him feel awkward around Baka-zawa and the sister. Yet, there is a lot less irritation with Chihiro's character from readers.

Hahaha..are you saying I'm old??..Hahaha..kidding..but yes..chihiro was the poor soul hia and that jus isn't the case..I kind of see myself in chihiro..which is why he kind of frustrated me..slightly..hehe..I know how overly sensitive I can get and so far into my own thoughts that I expect my partner to just know if I'm feeling a type of way..Hahaha..which is what I saw in chihiro in this story..but still a great story..loved every part of it..

LOL Not old... mature. There's a big difference! Hahaha I was exactly like you and Chihiro at one time, but I had someone dear to me pass away with many things left unsaid. Now, I always speak my mind and feelings immediately, good or bad. My holding back from fear or pride gave me regrets I can't shake to this day and she passed away over 25 years ago. I swore I would never let that happen again. So, it looks like I'm the old one! LOL This was a really good manga, one I would share with my granddaughter. I enjoyed it and I think she would too.

I agree. But WTF was with the silly ass mother?? It's great that she's open to homosexuality but, she should have set some GD ground rules for Model-dick before leaving him with the object of his "affection" while she scoots off for a week long holiday with her hubby and said "object of affection's" parents,,, lol
Peeps hating on keigo a lot..yeh he mite have seemed insensitive ..but gotta rememba he is a highschooler..so is Chihiro..Keigo I think just wanted to play it cool coz the sister and mother are both there..he probs didn't want to cause a scene..and he did ask chihiro what was wrong..and then wen they both finally alone he nipped it in the bud and told dat model straight out..I think for a high school romance between gays..Keigo handled the situation ok..he is not a mindreader..he cudnt havent known what that model said to Chihiro..he was fully devoted to Chihiro and stated his love on a daily basis..I loved every chapter of this..I think the problem I wud have had was how the mother just let a much older gay guy who openly states he likes a highschooler who she is guardian of..I mean I like how she was nice and open to him..but I mean he even went into chihiros room and managed to threaten him..that whole drama cud have been avoided if the model had boundaries set up wen going into their home..yes he was a friend of the sisters but still..anihoos..I still loved every panel of every chapter..keigo beat a thousand other semes I have read and I think the hate on him is too much..but this is yaoi and we are all free to think wat we wana..
Thank you sensei..and THANK YOU TRANSLATORS ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
