It's still completely cheating. If you don't like your relationship, you break it off and look for a better one. You don't screw someone with your boyfriend a few feet away waiting for you to come back to the room. It doesn't matter what kind of relationship they have, unless it is an open one where the bf is completely aware of what is going on, it is cheating
