I'm perplexed (And: brief spoilers for chapter 3)

This story really is a bit of a mess. Or something. Okay, the uke does have bad taste in men. Obviously especially this dude. (((Spoilery bit: And I don't care that he's been an idiot and got himself into this horrible situation, it doesn't mean he deserves to be raped or sexually abused, ever. I'm also not sure why it's needed in this plot. It feels like that thing where ukes get punished for sleeping with people other than their Designated Seme, which I never like to see.)))
But it's odd that so many guys have assumed that he's just playing around. It makes me think that he's not very successful at getting his intentions across to his partners, maybe. And he should really get himself to Nichoume and meet some guys who are actually gay... although I can't remember if this is set in Tokyo, and I don't really want to go back and re-read it, tbh. Anyway, he should find a nice gay bar. Not that gay guys never play around, but it might give him a better chance of meeting someone who's sincere about relationships with guys.

I think *maybe* the point of his history and unfolding relationship? with Hayase is that Hayase knows that he is actually sincere in wanting real love. Which would be fine... but it's sort of ruined plot-wise by the fact that Shiina HAS been playing around with Hayase, without intending to fall in love with him or anything. What's up with that?? Or maybe the problem is more the execution of that part of the plot.
And I'm not even sure that I'm interpreting this right. 3 chapters in and the story's still just kind of... off.

On Shiina has been playing around with Hayase: yes I completely agree. Well, he's trying. The way I understood the plot is Shiina is trying to be the player instead of getting played at, this time. He wanted to be in control of himself. On Hayase, he is trying to be the bad guy because he is guilty for taking his virginity and somewhat making him gay. He rejects his help because Shiina wanted to do things on his own, hitting two birds with one stone. While on his ex, he is trying to relieve his stress through sex and actually acting out what his ex (and all of them) was accusing him of, that he is just playing around. Unfortunately, that control was taken from him by getting raped. WHICH I DONT UNDERSTAND, why would the ex rape him? Unless his gf broke up with him because she thought he was gay so now he is taking it out on Shiina.

Ukes get punished from sleeping with others apart from their designated seme > if that's what the plot is saying, then it is a shitty plot. Does that mean the author her/himself is victim blaming their own characters? "Because you try to sleep with others, you get raped and you deserve it"? The author themselves?! OMG. That's just bad.
