Huh? I like Rogi. The one who is really reckless is Akitora. If you don't want to die being a Yakuza is NOT the way to go about it, ya know...?

Ya but you have to be somewhat reckless in order to be a top boss in any criminal infrastructure. Rogi in present time while still reckless is not as extreme as in his youth. I'm sure Akitora knows what he is doing and how bad or good it will end up. Rogi on other hand seems not to care bout the consequences till they happen.

Remember, though, that Akitora didn't want to be a yakuza boss. His recklessness could stem from not being properly invested in seriously dangerous work. His recklessness in pursuing Rogi definitely reflects his unhappiness in being trapped in his role as a yakuza head. He's drawn to Rogi's wildness and sense of freedom that he was forced to give up. If he does know what he's doing--and I agree, I think he absolutely knows what he's doing with Rogi--then he's the definition of reckless. Because he knows that Rogi is this wild, unpredictable creature that could tear him and the people around him to shreds, and yet Akitora picks him up by the tail because....why? Because he wants him, because it serves his ego. That's pretty reckless.

First I want to be clear I'm not forcing anyone to dislike a character they like. second of all there are different types and levels of reckless. Akitora is aware of what his actions might lead to and I'm kinda certain he has a way out running through his head. He doesn't seem the type of person to go ''oh whatever I'll just do this cuz I want to consequences be damnned". No matter what stupid thing he does he knows its stupid. Rogi on other hand just does whatever he wants, assumes all is gonna be well pretty and rainbows and then gets hurt cuz life's a bish and don't do what you want it to do. Thats why their relationship is so interesting to readers, because you have to sides of spectrum that on one level seem similar but in reality isn't.
