Motoharu knows that they were not meant for each other so he moved on and so does Akira. at the last chapter theres a person who apparently Akira's grandson named Misaki. and theres Motoharu who is now a professor of Misaki's school i guess. and he also said that Akira (Misaki's grandfather) is dead which means he knows that Misaki is Akira's grandson.
