as an expat married into a french family and living in france i have seen a fair amount of well deserved pride in their traditions, thought i cant speak for other EU countries
They have a great deal to be proud of.
That's what makes their willingness to throw those traditions and accomplishments away just to appease politically correct bullies so sad.
In stark contrast to that the people of Japan and their leaders are not only proud of their culture, they are fiercely protective of it.
When Kuge said Europeans are proud of their culture, all I could think is "No they aren't!!!"
Sadly, most people in Europe today don't have even one tenth of the pride in their countries or their heritage that Japanese people do.
