Don't ever say that to a male witch in real life.
I was always taught that's what a warlock was, but I said it to a guy who practices witchcraft and he freaked the fuck out on me.
I had to listen to a 10 minute lecture about how male witches are referred to as witches too, plus how everyone is ignorant and prejudiced against people who practice the craft, which I'm personally not.
He never even got around to explaining what a warlock is, but you would have thought I called him the N-word based on how he reacted.

I've known several. People who practice wicca/witchcraft are pretty common in New England, which is where I lived a few years back.
The man who gave me the lecture was both a nurse and a witch I worked with up in the Adirondack mountains.
