Loved the plot

But the delivery felt off. Actually, less the delivery of the love story and more the gross incompetence of what is assumed to be a highly competent character. Even in a "business first" environment as Japan, a secretary who looks down on their superior so blatantly seems a bit far fetched. Yo has a new director, yet he fails to even discuss his new director's past business achievements with the president. He simply assumes, based on the phrase, "Never worked a day in a company", that the director is an incompetent ne'er-do-well with no business acumen. It takes several days or even weeks before a CLIENT informs him of his own director's many accomplishments and business savvy. In those days or weeks, he speaks to his director like he would speak to a delinquent punk without once recognizing that their work is not just moving smoothly, but doing spectacularly. A secretary would be privy to this information. Yo was a subordinate with the attitude of a superior. This is not a preferred quality in a secretary. Keeping a boss focused and on track is one thing, but reprimanding how a boss handles his accounts is insubordination, unless the boss is losing said accounts. It just felt like Yo's inferiority/superiority complex was overplayed for a character who is supposed to be viewed as highly competent. Thus, he felt less like an admirable protagonist and more like a dislikable antagonist. Which, in turn, makes it hard to sympathize with him later in the story. Which is sad because the dynamic of the couple had great potential. I eventually liked Yo, but it felt like it took too long for him to become likable and so, the ending and their getting together felt rushed and flimsy. It was a good manga that missed being a great manga for me.

I wondered the same thing ... being informed that he was going to be working under a new director, why didn't he do some research ? At the very least he could have asked his previous director instead of the assuming the new one had no business acumen. I didn't appreciate Yo's superior attitude as well in the beginning. But for the sake of his character being a "tsundere", I had to forgive him. LOL ! Thank goodness for patient and forgiving semes ! It was an enjoyable read for me.
