I did not read the novel, but from the reactions of Shin and the others and assuming they fought many battles together in the game , Ziralt had to be a close to him. For Shin to go to the extent he did to risk his life to battle him to near death to honor him tells how much value Shin placed on Ziralt. why should we care? bec, the character shin did.
why should we give a shit is what I'm asking.
I got it that he's very close to shin but the story teller should have at least tried to make us care about ziralt before killing him.
Its like making us feel for an unknown guy who committed suicide, not saying that I won't feel anything though, maybe a bit of pity.
The least the mangaka or the author could've done is give us readers some attachment to a character to make the death have a little more impact than just saying "Ziralt fought alongside Shin, after shin disappeared ziralt made a kingdom or something, then shin came back and ziralt want to die by his hands(???),
shin kills ziralt, shin mourns ziralt's suicide by his own master because why the fk not, shin cries boohoo."
Thumb me down for all I care.
This is ass writing ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
I was waiting for an impact, an OOMPH, but non came.
That is what an author should aim for to make the important scenes have some sense to it.
In so many mangas and stories I've read that has death of a close loved one, you could feel a sense of loss, you mourn with the characters. In this one, I felt nothing.
I wish they showed a few scenes where shin raised ziralt or them fighting side by side surviving the death game that happened years before and then show ziralt's POV when shin disappeared.
It feels like the whole story is so easy going that I feel any scene that's supposed to be significant becomes a joke. I don't feel like reading such a novel.
Sorry if this is so ranty, It's just that I just can't feel anything at all.
I remember Ziralt calling Shin Master also.
That is a good way of explaining it. In a way, Shin has lost a part of himself.
It's like I missed an important cut scene.
It's like a party but you're only allowed to watch from afar on a veiled window.
It's something I just can't explain.
Author should've shown us these emotions instead of letting us assume that ziralt is a part of him thus we should feel for his loss.
or I might be just a sociopath...
Not every one feels the same way. It is a manga not real life. there is nothing wrong with you. this is not areal situation. Stop putting yourself down. There are some manga's on here that people claim make them cry over and I just don't get those. I can't say this made me cry I just sorry for Shin. You are far from being a sociopath. You have a point. in some back story should have been included, but what can you do. There is nothing wrong with how your feelings.

Who the heck is ziralt and why should we care if he died?
I didn't read the novel so the mangaka should've at least given us some flashbacks to make us care about him at all.
No build up, no flash backs, no mention of how shin and his "companions" even lived before.
Can someone tell me which part of the novel gives a ziralt some background?
If the novel is just like the manga is made then I can just imagine the next arcs to be too unrelatable.
