I don't get why people in the comment section are calling the ending a tragic one. The ending was far from tragic. Bittersweet is the correct term but even then I think it was a happy ending. They ended up as a couple till the end and they had 20 more years (if we based off of Hideo's age, Tomohisa died when Hideo was fifty and the first chapter IIRC celebrates Hideo's 30th bday) to cherish each other.
I mean even if we ignore the last chapter, it's not like they're gonna be forever young if we try to continue the story in our minds. Someone will have to die eventually or worse, both of them.
Ok but so early? Like what was tomohisa, 40 smth? That's wayyyy to early to be called anything but sad. We like to imagine our couples happy till they're BOTH 70 ok? Not left alone for 20 years. How painful is that?
