This isn't just in Hasumi-sensei's version of omegaverse. I've seen it in others.
What's unique about a soul bond is that it locks in the alpha too. Standard bond, they can still mate with other omegas. Soul bond means they can just mate with their bond. The bond breaks with death, if the shit-talking omega in this chapter is to be believed.
