EXACTLY HOW I AM FEELING
Like why is she like that? It doesn't matter if he truly loves her if he can't consider that her feelings might get hurt when he does shit like that. I just don't understand the whole situation. In the end he stays with his wife and kid and rogi turns bitter and tries to get his attention but why do we have to go into so much detail of a story we can hardly empathize with. Like sometimes they just over romantasize everything so much that we cannot understand the characters anymore. I feel like this is what happened here and I'm very sad about that cause I love the characters the art just everything but this situation that just doesn't make any sense, sry for the long post lol just so irritated and confused
I just think about how hurt she must feel inside and I want to cry. Like if her husband truly loved her as she thought than he wouldn’t need of cheated. I’m so upset as well
This is kind of an odd opinion to me because, historically, the idea of monogamous, faithful marriages *is* the romantisization of the institution. For a lot longer, in many many societies across the globe it was expected for the husband to have extramarital affairs, and in some cases the wife as well.
In fact, it's not unusual (depending on the society), for this arrangement to be perfectly normal and some are quite content with that. Certainly, for *yakuza* it can't be an odd arrangement. I think some of us have read too many mangas and have this idealistic idea of the kinds of societies in which criminals operate. Certainly, in a title with a very glamourised depiction of what the criminal underworld is like, it is beyond strange for me to see that *THIS* is what persons find hard to believe.
To me it doesn't have anything to do with manga or reality, i know that there are polygamous couples but it all doesn't feel real to me and it wouldn't work for me, i talked with this girl who is married to two guys , now one of them is gay not bi and he fell in love with her husband and her husband with him, they've always wanted to have a polygamous relationship , they say they all love each other but while interacting with them i can feel the guys always agree with each other opnions, they always glance at each other while smiling and the girl is kind of left out and in bed I'm pretty sure the gay partner is not attracted to her obviously , is impossible to control your feelings so theres no such things as " we all love each other equally and i can love two people at the same time and live peacefully " in my opnion... i mean it happens and it exists everywhere in the world ofc but to me is crazy that someone accepts that ... I'm single right now and I wanna be single for a long long time because i like being alone so i can't understand why someone would tolerate being hurt just to be loved and to be around the person you love i honestly don't understand uxgf8tutfuftugcugcut anne san seems to accept that and I'm like " HOOOOW" sorry for tthe hr long ass text this is all so confusing i will just ignore everything and wait for the flashback to end (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
The idea of marriage as a monogamous fulfilment of one true love came about in the 20th century--it's RECENT. And there are still cultures today in which arranged marriages are the norm and/or extramarital affairs are accepted. Beyond that, even in Western countries where marriage is very romantic, there is a notable portion of persons who date men with the understanding that they'll cheat but as long as the mess doesn't reach their doorstep they good. This knowledge comes with more reading and overall life experience, I guess.
My only point about criminality is that when you have a sub-group that does not conform to mainstream society's idea of how to behave then maybe being surprised at this situation is strange. Ana-san said it herself, didn't she? That they create their own codes. Even many in mainstream society only maintain a facade of romantic, monogamous love anyway.
No, no, I get you lol. I think Scarlet Beriko did a good job of writing Ana so that her decisions fit in with the story. But if it's too much for you, it's too much. I find the flashback interesting but I am kinda anxious to get back to the main storyline and see how Rogi-san's romantic life will develop *now* rather than spend more time with one we already know will end.
There are plenty of polygamous/amorous relationships in the 21st century. And more than them being criminals it's more to do with the kinds of circles they run in, which going by Ane-san's past is the sex-industry where maybe monogamy isn't as idolised since they see so many people coming to cheat anyway. Maybe Ane-san values honesty more than monogamy. Even ignoring all that, this story isn't trying to tell you a proper little love story between Tora-Anesan or even Tora and Rogi, if you impose your own views/morals on love onto the characters you're not going to be able to understand them. Just read it with an open mind.
i don't want to join the big discussion so i'm just gonna chime in:
the fact that marriage wasn't about love at that time, but more like a business deal, was exactly why poly and concubines and even cheating wasn't that much of a deal. it may hurt the wifes pride, or the husbands, but it wasn't about love, the main problem were illegitimate children.
they clearly love each other, so that's a completely different situaton
i also don't know if i missed sth, but that relationship is not a poly one yet?
while i also find her reaction too chill, i've actually come across it a few time in fiction, and it's always the same
imo ane acts as nice and chill because she knows she is the ultimate nr 1 for tora, she knows he loves her with all his heart despite the cheating, and that she wins over rogi anyday, she takes pride in that and ignores toras affair, maybe even feels sympathy for rogi
she knows rogi is no threat to her, no competition, and will either be the number 2 or actually be thrown away by tora eventually, it's somewhat the pride that one feels when someone tries to flirt with their partner, to see him/her desired, but knowing they only have eyes for onself
like tora said himself, she lets him sleep next to him, a 'nice act' that actually just shows rogi who is the actual partner of tora and owns that space next to him. her. his wife. it's kinda like the old business wife who knows her husnand would never leave her for that stupid 20 y/o college girl he fucks with.
and we all know she's right at the end.

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS GOING ON ? your husband fucked another dude and you invite this dude to your house and gives him a warm blanket, food and advice? It makes me think that she doesn't love him and that he doesn't love her idk ... okay i like everyone in this manga, every character is badass in their own way but everyone here is a bit fucked up in the head, unless they have a free relationship where you can fuck anyone you want that's not normal to me , i always knew rogi was crazy and unconventional but i don't get how anne san accepts that or why her husb cheated on such a bad ass, intelligent, hot women ... i just want the flashbackflashbacks to end , he clearly choose his wife in the end and rogi ended up alone , now please can we get back to the point where his life is happy ?
