Actually I can understand him.
He got really hurt in the past and what if he dares to say it thoughtlessly again and gets "rejected" again? (Though Takanos love for him seems obvious NOW u can never be absolutely sure that it will stay like that.) Would he recover a second time? ^^ I kinda know how that feels. I learned not to trust people too much, not to show sadness, just to smile so people wont be bothered by me and my problems and that they will accept me with that laugh and smile. Honestly I went through some shit and I dont want that to happen again, dont want to go through that pain again, so of course it's hard if u teached yourself that and want to change it.. xd
And btw he already told him in that rainy scene but Takano didnt understand him because of the rain cx
