I mean yeah, he was a kid of like 5 or 6? There's no way he'd think that telling them to kiss would result in them being in a relationship. Later in that chapter he even thought his dad was gonna get remarried.
True. And maybe since he was young, he was probably very innocent and didn't completely get the implication of a kiss between two adults.
But the thing is he was basically his mom. Like if you were raised by a motherly figure and a fatherly figure you put 2 and 2 together yaknow? Plus he'd learn at some point they're together or ask questions like wtf
I thought Chiharu knew sensei and his dad were together? Like he flat out tells his dad to kiss him. Then smiles happily at sensei when Chiharu's dad asks him to be part of their family. Then, he's technically looking up at his dad when sensei gives him a kiss at the end of chapter 2. And come the next chapter, we find out he doesn't know? I mean, I guess I can excuse him for not understanding because he was a child. Still though. Not gonna lie, I liked his devilish personality, but I don't like the motivations behind it.
