I really didn't warm up to the manhua, but I absolutely love the novel and enjoyed the animation too. Of course my favorite character is Ye Xiu, but I also have a soft spot for Blue River for some reason and Deception. I'm rarely a fan of female characters, but of the few females this series features my favorite is Tang Rou. I recommend reading the novel. Right now it's up to chapter 949 or 950.
