the ending felt really rushed and unfitting for the rest of the story, the "domestic happy ever after" made it feel like 2 different couples in 2 different stories (and such unstable ppl really shouldn't raise a child), also not a big fan of the 'he protected them with his life, so all the shit he did is kinda unimportant to the readers now' trope.

idk, not one of ogawa's best work imo, the story doesn't make much sense in regards to the original fairy tale, nor do I really see adam's feeling in here.. (I mean some 'love' to exploit the person by letting others fuck him even if he cries every time afterwards, and some 'passion' for your work to rise to the top by said fucking and not your talent.)
would have preferred it if it would've gone the psychological route 'til the end, wouldn't have made it my favorite, but at least not feel so much like a break in continuity

The ending is kind of a twist lol, I thought it'd go psychological route too.. But I think Adam's been trying to deny his feeling all along (not from the start, he might be attracted to uke, but he certainly only sees his passion for shoes designing).. But I think he finally realized his feeling when he slept with uke
